This blog is there to teach people the benefits of eating healthy and what supplements can help them reach optimal health. Diet alone will not do it because of the different aspects that we will explain in the blog.
Eating a balanced diet is important for good health and wellbeing. Our bodies need energy, essential fats, protein, vitamins and minerals to live, grow and function as expected. Different foods are needed with right amounts of nutrients for us to achieve the result we want which is good health.
Essential nutrients are those that the body cannot synthesise on its own. These must come from the foods that we eat. They are necessary for the body to function properly and there are three categories of nutrients. These are Macronutrients, Micronutrients and Phytonutrients.
These are the carbohydrates, protein and fat. Carbohydrates are used for immediate energy, like quick fuel. Proteins are the body’s building blocks- they help in the growing and repairing of the cells. Fat stores energy for the long term and is also a great barrier for the cells and body.
These are the vitamins and minerals. Micro because we need them in much smaller quantities everyday. They play a big role in the body by saving all our metabolic functions. The human body cannot sufficiently manufacture all micronutrients to sustain life. We obtain them from specific foods or specific combinations of foods. It takes some effort and variety in our diet to get the optimal daily amount of the vitamins and minerals.
These are organic components found in plants that are thought to be beneficial for human health.Phyto, Greek word meaning. Fruit, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts and teas are all rich sources of phytonutrients. They help protect plants germs, fungi and other threats. When absorbed by our bodies they help us stay healthy and keep our bodies working properly.
Find your balance
If you cannot get all the Nutrients you need from your diet, then there’s need of you to take Food Supplement.
With such busy lives, its sometimes difficult to find the time to prepare and eat the five- nine servings of fruit and vegetables that is recommended by the World Health Organisation. Supplements may help us to fill the gap of nutrients we need every day while still leaving life to the full.
Some foods that we eat because we think they’re healthful have actually been stripped of their nutrients before they get to our plates. Whole wheat loses 75% of its B Vitamins, minerals and Fibre when it is being milled into flour. Rice loses most of its vitamins, minerals and fibre when its polished to turn it from brown to white. Even the soil that these and other plant-derived foods grow in is often nutrient depleted.
One doctor said if we want to fight disease and achieve maximum life span, we cannot do it with diet alone. We need the extra nutritional boost that only supplements can provide. In a lot of ways, supplements are to humans what manure is to plants. If a plant is given the right amounts of sunlight and water it will live but if you can add manure to it,it will thrive.
A healthful, balanced diet supplies the body with the right nutrients but give it supplements such as vitamins, minerals, fatty acids the body will be protected, repaired, regenerated and even support the process of renewing cells.
